What Happens When You Don’t Listen to Your Intuition
How I learned that ignoring your inner guidance just reroutes you back to your soul’s work
The Cost of Ignoring Your Inner Voice
For most of my twenties, I thought being logical meant being safe.
I had a stable job in cybersecurity, good benefits, a career path that made sense on paper. I was doing everything I was supposed to do. And yet, I felt this quiet ache underneath it all. Like a part of me was watching from a distance, whispering, this isn’t it.
I ignored it for years.
That small tug in my chest when I logged into another meeting that drained me. The resistance that came every time I tried to convince myself I was fulfilled. The physical tension that built up in my body because I wasn’t living in alignment with what my soul came here to do.
At the time, I didn’t realize that was my intuition speaking. I just thought something was wrong with me for not being happy with what everyone else called success.
The thing about intuition is that it’s patient, but it’s persistent.
It starts as a whisper, then a nudge, and if you keep ignoring it, life gets LOUDER. For me, that looked like burnout. Anxiety that didn’t make sense. Feeling disconnected from myself even when everything looked fine from the outside.
It wasn’t until I finally slowed down enough to listen that things started to shift. That’s when I began to understand that intuition isn’t some mystical thing outside of you. It’s your soul’s built-in guidance system. It’s how your higher self communicates what you came here to learn, create, and experience.
When you ignore it, life reroutes you again and again until you remember.
And when you follow it, you start to see how much easier everything feels. The opportunities that align. The people who show up. The clarity that comes when you stop outsourcing your answers.
Leaving that corporate job wasn’t easy. It was uncomfortable, uncertain, and completely opposite of what my logical mind wanted. But it was also the most aligned decision I’ve ever made. Once I started listening to that inner voice, I realized it wasn’t leading me away from stability. It was leading me home to myself.
Now I understand that your intuition is directly connected to your soul’s purpose. It’s the map that helps you remember who you are and what you’re here to do. Every time you honor it, even in small ways, you strengthen that connection.
Your intuition won’t always make sense at first.
But it will always make you feel more like yourself.
Maybe that’s the point.
Your soul didn’t come here to have it all figured out.
It came to remember what it feels like to trust your own knowing.
With love and alignment,
