It All Started with a Costco Run
One of our friends was visiting from New York last week, and while they were here, I wanted to cook something easy but still super satisfying. Nothing fancy, just cozy, shareable food we could all enjoy without much fuss.
Since we moved to Colorado, we’ve been keeping things pretty minimal. We sold almost everything before the move and hauled it all in a U-Haul across the country, so right now we’re slowly rebuilding our kitchen with just the essentials we know we’ll actually use.
During a Costco run, I grabbed a big pack of wings. Honestly, I should probably just grab an air fryer next time too. Gotta hit the Costco quota, lol.
I tossed the wings with garlic, mayo, and a little honey, popped them in the oven, and crossed my fingers. They came out with the perfect crispy edges, juicy centers, and way more flavor than I expected.
Now they’re in regular rotation. Super easy, full of flavor, and always a hit.
The Recipe 👩🏼🍳
Crispy Garlic Honey Mayo Oven-Baked Wings
(for half a Costco family pack)
Ingredients
Half a Costco family pack of chicken wings
4 to 5 tablespoons mayo (we used Sir Kensington’s, but any works)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 to 2 teaspoons honey (for a light sticky finish)
Garlic salt, to taste
All-season salt, to taste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon butter (optional — we’ve been loving grass-fed with sea salt lately, but feel free to use whatever you like or have on hand)
At the time of prepping these, I honestly didn’t feel like melting butter and figured the mayo would be enough. And it turns out, it was! That said, a little butter with the honey adds extra depth and makes the glaze just a bit richer, so feel free to try that too.
Oven Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Mix the mayo, minced garlic, honey, garlic salt, all-season salt, paprika, and butter if using.
Toss the wings until coated evenly.
Spread them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
For extra crispiness, check in during the last 10 minutes or broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end. Keep an eye on them since honey can brown quickly.
If you're cooking at altitude like we are in Colorado, you may need a few extra minutes. I usually let them go a little longer to get that perfect texture.
Prefer the Air Fryer? Here’s How to Do It 🍗
If you already have an air fryer, this recipe works great there too.
Air Fryer Instructions:
Preheat to 390°F.
Coat wings in the garlic honey mayo mixture.
Arrange in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if needed.
Air fry for 20 to 24 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Check around the 18-minute mark. The honey caramelizes beautifully and gives that perfect sticky crisp.

This recipe has officially earned a spot in our household favorites. It’s simple, full of flavor, and hits that sweet and savory balance we always come back to. Whether it’s a weeknight dinner or something to make when friends stop by, it just works.
I love serving a meal and seeing everyone enjoy it. There’s something meaningful about the way food brings people together, even in the smallest moments. Cooking has always been a creative outlet for me. It’s how I reset, express myself, and show care without needing to say much.
Since moving to Colorado, I’ve also been learning how to adjust for cooking at altitude, which adds a unique twist to everyday recipes. It’s been a fun challenge and makes dishes like this even more rewarding when they turn out just right. If you’re also navigating high-altitude cooking, I’ve shared some helpful tips and resources right here.
We’re all about meals that feel good, taste amazing, and don’t take all day. And this one checks every box. I hope it brings a little of that same energy into your kitchen too. 🫶🏻
