How to Start Accessing Your Akashic Records
A beginner-friendly way to start connecting with your Akashic Records
A Beginner’s Guide to Self-Remembrance
When I first heard about the Akashic Records, I thought they sounded a little out there. Like maybe only psychics could access them. Or like you had to do something intense or meditate for hours just to get a glimpse.
But it’s not like that at all.
The Records aren’t far away or reserved for certain people. They’re already part of your field. You don’t have to earn access. You just have to tune in. For me, it all started with intention, curiosity, and a willingness to listen.
If you’ve felt drawn to them but didn’t know where to begin, you’re in the right place.
What You’re Really Doing When You “Access” the Records
Here’s how I see it.
Accessing the Records isn’t about going somewhere else. It’s more like expanding your perspective, zooming out, and remembering what’s always been within you. This space holds the bigger picture, the patterns unfolding in your life, and the lessons your soul came here to explore.
Some people experience strong visuals. Others feel it as a quiet knowing or emotional clarity. There’s no single way it happens. The Records tend to meet you where you are. Which is honestly what makes the connection feel so personal and alive.
1. Journaling as a Channel
One of the easiest ways I started connecting with the Records was by writing. I’d sit down with my notebook and ask:
"What would my soul’s highest self want me to remember right now?"
I’d let the words come through as they were. I didn’t edit or try to make them sound profound. I just allowed whatever showed up, even if it didn’t make sense right away.
Some days it felt quiet. Other days it felt like I was channeling something bigger than me. But the more I trusted it, the more grounded I felt.
Before I write, I like to come back into my body. Usually that means a warm chai in the morning, some sun on my face, or a grounding meditation to help clear the energy around me. Lately, I’ve been using this one a lot. It’s one of my favorites right now. I recorded it to help bring a sense of steadiness before connecting with anything intuitive, and it always brings me back into myself.
It helps me shake off whatever isn’t mine so I’m not carrying other people’s energy into the session.
When I open up like this, I always invite in loving energy only. That wording and intention matters! It sets the tone for who or what is allowed in. And when I’m done, I am always sure to close it out by saying thank you — whether that’s to my higher self, my guides, or whatever part of me showed up.
Gratitude is how I reset and return (which is so important in this practice).
2. Visualization Practice
There are days I don’t feel like writing, but I still want to tune in. When that happens, I close my eyes and imagine a space that feels safe and open. Sometimes it's a glowing doorway. Sometimes it’s a book or just light.
Then I’ll say:
"I’m open to receiving what’s for my highest good."
And I wait. A few minutes is enough. I’m not trying to make anything happen. If I get a word, a feeling, an image, or even just a sense of calm, I count that as a connection. That’s usually all it takes for me to feel like I’ve dropped back into myself.
3. Noticing Micro-Moments of Intuition
The Records don’t only show up during quiet journaling or meditation time. A lot of the insights I get come through in the middle of my day. It might be a gut feeling while I’m driving. A random thought that stops me in my tracks. Something someone says that sticks with me for no obvious reason.
I’ve learned to pay attention to those moments. The urge to pause. The feeling that something isn’t quite right. The idea that shifts how I’m seeing a situation. That’s often how my higher self gets my attention.
The more I notice those little nudges, the more connected I feel. It doesn’t have to be a big spiritual moment to mean something. A lot of times, it’s the smallest ones that end up mattering most! 🤓
My First Experience Wasn’t What I Expected
I thought it would feel big. Like something obvious would happen. Maybe a clear message or a moment that confirmed I was doing it right.
But when I actually tried? It was quiet. I just felt really present with myself. Calm. There was this sense of stillness that didn’t come from thinking — it just showed up. And the weirdest part? I smelled perfume out of nowhere. Like someone had walked through the room, but no one was there. It wasn’t strong or dramatic, just unexpected enough to make me pause.
That was it. That was the Records.
Nothing flashy, but it was real. And the more I returned to that space, the more natural it felt. I stopped wondering if I was doing it right and started trusting how it felt in my body. It became something I could return to anytime I needed a little clarity or space to breathe.
A Way to Begin
You can start whenever it feels right. Maybe during a slow morning, on a walk, or when you’re in between things. There’s nothing you need to prep. Just take a moment, close your eyes, and ask:
"What would my soul like me to know today?"
You might get a clear message. Or maybe it’s just a feeling, a word, or a memory that surfaces. It doesn’t have to look a certain way to be real. The more you practice tuning in, the more natural it starts to feel.
