How to Shift Your Energy and Raise Your Vibration (No Woo Required)
Raising your vibration isn’t about being “high vibe” all the time. It’s about finding small ways to reconnect with yourself when energy feels heavy.
Simple Ways to Raise Your Vibration When You Feel Off
When people hear “raise your vibration,” it can sound like a vague spiritual buzzword. But raising your vibration is really about shifting into a state where you feel clearer, lighter, and more in alignment with yourself. It’s not about forcing positivity or pretending everything is fine — it’s about intentionally choosing energy that supports you.
Raising your vibration is essentially less about escaping hard emotions and more about how you choose to meet yourself in them.
What Raising Your Vibration Actually Means
Your “vibration” is simply the energetic frequency you’re operating from in any given moment. It shifts constantly based on your thoughts, emotions, physical state, and environment.
When your vibration is low, you might feel:
Heavy and sluggish
Anxious or overwhelmed
Disconnected from yourself
Pulled into negativity or draining patterns
When your vibration is high, you tend to feel:
Clear and calm
Present and aligned
Energized in a grounded way
Connected to your intuition and truth
It’s not about “being high vibe” all the time and let’s be honest here, we’re human and that’s just not realistic or sustainable. It’s more about knowing how to gently shift when you notice yourself sinking into energy that doesn’t feel supportive.
Practical Ways to Raise Your Vibration
These are small, real-life practices I use when I need to reset my energy:
1. Get Into Your Body
Movement shifts energy. Whether it’s a walk, stretching, dancing, or shaking off tension — getting into your body helps you move stagnant energy and return to the present. Lately I’ve been big on walking and listening to podcasts!
2. Breathe with Intention
Take a few deep, intentional breaths. Imagine inhaling light and exhaling anything that feels heavy. Breathwork doesn’t need to be fancy to be effective and I often find myself doing box breathing since it’s quick and we all know I love efficiency and productivity (lol).
3. Shift Your Environment
Sometimes you just need a change of scenery. Open a window, step outside, or tidy up a small space. Your environment reflects your energy. We live by the mountains, so I like to look outside and let my gaze rest on the mountains. It feels so calming. I’ll take a few deep breaths and focus only on my breath and the stillness of the mountains. It helps bring me back to center.
4. Connect with Water
Water is a natural cleanser. Drink a big glass of water, wash your hands with intention, watch your problems go down the drain, or take a shower to reset your field.
5. Choose Nourishing Thoughts
You don’t have to force positive affirmations. Instead, find a thought that feels like a small upgrade from where you are. It can be as simple as “I’m open to feeling a little better.” The words you speak are powerful and you’re speaking them into reality. That’s why it’s important to avoid speaking in absolutes or permanence. Even when things feel heavy, you can remind yourself it’s temporary. Your words help shape the moment you’re in, so choose language that leaves room for movement and possibility.
6. Sound & Frequency
Listening to music, humming, or using sound bowls can help shift your vibration quickly. Sound is a powerful vibrational tool. I recently started learning how to play the steel tongue drum and wow, it feels so good in my body. The resonance is so calming, and I love how it instantly shifts my energy.
7. Ground & Protect
Take a moment to visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth. Anchor yourself and set a boundary: “I choose to hold my own energy.” Short, sweet and to the point!
Raising Your Vibration Is Personal

Raising your vibration isn’t a performance. It’s a practice of choosing yourself again and again, in small moments.
