How to Bring Intention Into Your Elopement Day
How I’m bringing energy, presence, and love into our Rocky Mountain elopement
The grounding practices that help me feel centered and calm while eloping in Colorado
When I think about our elopement day in Rocky Mountain National Park, I don’t picture timelines or perfection. I picture the energy of the morning, the quiet moments before everything begins, and how it feels to really be there.
I’ve learned that bringing intention into your elopement isn’t about adding more to your to-do list. It’s about choosing to be fully present in the moments that matter. The details still come together, but the energy behind them feels softer, calmer, and more meaningful.
Start with Energy, Not Aesthetics
It’s easy to get caught up in colors, flowers, and photos, but the energy you carry into the day will shape everything. Before you plan anything, take a breath and ask yourself how you want to feel when you look back on your day.
Do you want it to feel grounding and peaceful, or light and joyful? Do you want to feel expansive, connected, or centered? Let those feelings lead your choices.
When your energy comes first, the external details align more naturally.
Set the Tone with Ritual
You don’t need a big ceremony to make it sacred. Sometimes the smallest rituals hold the most power.
You could begin your morning by lighting a candle, pulling a card, or saying a few words that ground you in the present. You could do a short Reiki session, hold your partner’s hands, or simply take a few minutes together to breathe.
The point isn’t to make it perfect. It’s to make it real.
Let the Elements Support You
Nature holds so much wisdom. Whether it’s water, earth, air, or fire, each element has a frequency that can support your energy that day.
You could stand barefoot in the grass before your ceremony, take a deep breath of mountain air, or carry a small piece of rose quartz to open your heart. The mountains, wind, and sunlight all carry their own vibration, and when you align with that, your energy harmonizes with the land.
Colorado has such a strong elemental presence. The mountains are grounding, the air is expansive, and the water reminds you to flow.
Bring Your Whole Self
Elopement days tend to be simple by design, which makes space for your full presence. Bring your emotions, your joy, your tears, your love, and your truth. The more authentic you are, the more powerful the energy feels.
I’ve realized that the best moments don’t come from perfect planning but from being honest with yourself. Whether that’s laughter during your vows or a quiet moment between photos, it’s all sacred.
Anchor the Energy
Before the day ends, take a moment to ground the experience into your body. This could be through journaling, gratitude, or just sitting in silence and taking it all in. When you anchor the energy, it becomes part of you.
You can also send Reiki to the memory of your day to seal it with calm and love. I’ve been doing this for years, and it helps the energy of the moment linger long after the day is over.
From My Heart
Writing to you guys about this process always feels so grounding. Every time I tune in to what this day means, I remember that it’s about connection. Not just with each other, but with ourselves, with the land, and with the energy that holds it all.
If you want support creating your own energetic rituals for your elopement or wedding, I offer Reiki, Sekhem, and Akashic Records sessions through Vibrational Bloom. These sessions help you tune into your day’s energy, clear any stress, and align with the love that’s already waiting to unfold.
With love and alignment,
