Lately I’ve been craving something new in the mornings. Something energizing, supportive of my fitness goals, and honestly just fun to make. With the warmer weather, I’ve been leaning into cold drinks that still feel nourishing. This banana foster coffee checks every box and would you believe it came together with what I had on hand at the time!
It’s rich, naturally sweet, gut friendly, and gives you that cozy “treat yourself” feeling while still supporting your goals.

Why I Love It
This isn’t your average iced coffee. It’s rich from the banana and oat milk, subtly sweet thanks to manuka honey and maple extract, and it comes with a hint of cinnamon warmth. The banana also adds a boost of natural fiber to help support digestion and blood sugar balance. The espresso gives it that much needed lift without any crash. Plus, you can easily add collagen, protein, or creatine depending on what your body needs that day.

The Recipe: Banana Foster Functional Coffee
What you’ll need:
• 1 banana
• 1/2 cup cold brew
• 1 shot espresso (I used Chameleon concentrate)
• 1/2 cup oat milk
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
• 1 teaspoon manuka honey
• dash of cinnamon
• pinch of Himalayan salt
• ice
Optional add ins:
• 1 scoop unflavored collagen
• 1 scoop protein powder (my current favorite is whey protein and you can get it here)
• 1 scoop creatine
How to make it:
Add all ingredients to a blender
Blend until smooth and frothy
Pour over ice and sip slowly
You can also make it thicker and turn it into a smoothie bowl or post workout shake. This recipe is super forgiving. Make it yours.

2 to 3 grams of fiber

Yes. You can skip the espresso and just use cold brew, or try a caffeine free swap like dandelion root tea or roasted chicory.
Can I use frozen banana instead?
Absolutely. It will make the drink a little thicker and colder, kind of like a coffee milkshake.
Is this actually supportive for blood sugar?
Yes. It’s made with whole foods, natural sweetness from banana and honey, plus fiber and optional protein or collagen. No refined sugar.
